“Our Gastroenterology Department offers comprehensive treatment for a wide range of different digestion disorders and other abnormalities of the digestive tract. Within the last 10-20 years, the scientists have made many discoveries and developed new technologies for managing gastrointestinal tract diseases.
In the past, our options were limited. I’ll provide an example from within my specialty. At present, the endoscopic ultrasound technology is used everywhere. At that, regular ultrasound has been known for a long time. Innovators placed an ultrasound probe onto a diagnostic endoscope. Now, we can literally reach inside a human body and examine organs and tissues up close.
The endoscopic ultrasound not only allows examination; it also helps take tissue samples. What do all these innovations mean in practice? They mean that diagnosis becomes more accurate and safe for the patient.
The work of our department is based on the team approach. We aspire to provide patients with comprehensive, complex treatment. The patient’s stay at the clinic, from the first visit to the discharge, should be not only safe but also comfortable.”
