“Radiology as a medical discipline depends very heavily on the technological development, and the technologies advance every day. Our medical center provides us with all the necessary resources and state-of-the-art equipment for us to be able to offer the best treatment to our patients.
By this moment, we have proceeded to entirely digital diagnosis. 3D mammography is one of the latest innovations in radiology.
The work of a specialist in diagnostic radiology resembles a detective’s work in many aspects. We have many clues, but they are strewn all over the place. What exactly is a patient? How do they feel today? What do the lab tests show?
Oftentimes, I study the patient’s health history and scans during the consultation and discuss the results with the patient straight away. My job is to obtain as much information as possible from the scans and to deliver it to the treating physicians: surgeons and medical oncologists.
Sometimes, it’s like a light bulb goes on over your head, and you are able to make all the pieces into a complete picture. What I like the most about my job is that I can suggest the right route for the patient, and they will proceed to treatment, certain that it will help.”
